Oulton Park in Cheshire was bathed in glorious sunshine as Seton Tuning Yamaha's Graeme Gowland battled for points in the third round of the MCE British Superbike Championship over the May Day Bank Holiday (4-6 May).
Leaving it until the dying seconds of qualification, Graeme 'Gowla' Gowland elevated his Seton Tuning Yamaha onto the outside of the front row ahead of the opening Motorpoint British Supersport race. Gowla's lap time of 1:38.661s was just one tenth shy of the existing lap record and made it a Yamaha sandwich on the front row of the grid.
Seton Tuning Yamaha's Graeme Gowland weathered the storm to add more valuable points to the board, as Thruxton in Hampshire hosted round two of the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship.
Yet another close qualifying session saw Graeme 'Gowla' Gowland set to start the 12 lap Motorpoint British Supersport Sprint race from the second row in 8th on Saturday afternoon. However, torrential rain and persistent standing water on the track forced the cancellation of the afternoon activities, despite the heroic attempts by track marshals and race control.
Delayed until Sunday morning and reduced down to 10 laps, the lights finally went out for the Sprint at 11.40am. Seeley stole the holeshot from pole sitter Easton, with Gowla elevating his Seton Tuning Yamaha up a spot to round out the top seven.
